Every day I am reminded of the importance of details. There are details in ingredients, details in techniques, details in tastes, details in ideas, details in lighting, details in photography, details in editing, details in the details.
Every day I trip over details.
Tripping is a great reminder to wake up and pay attention.
Recently we have been working with a number of crisps and this reminds us of the benefits of being able to easily release ingredients from molds and templates. Pan release spray works well when it is sprayed on and then wiped clean to leave a fine film. The key is remembering to apply the spray. I know it makes the end result better and easier to work with. I write about it in recipes. I am a stickler for details. Still, time and again I forget and trip over this smallest of details.
Why? Are there too many details? Never.
Rather, I believe there is too much extraneous noise and interference. If we can filter the static, a clarity will emerge and we will be able to pay attention and remember the details.
