What is a shopping list of ideas? Well, I was thinking about grocery shopping and the scratched notes I would scribble to myself so I would not forget something at the store. I would be walking down the street and see someone drinking coffee and remember that I need milk for coffee tomorrow.
My brain works similarly with regards to food and ideas and combinations. Walking to the corner store today, no purpose in mind, just stretching my legs, ideas began to spring forth like items on a shopping list. Previous conversations, smells in the air and spring tree blossoms all bounced around in my head and I began to put together a list of ideas. Unfortunately, I did not have any post it notes or a pen on me so I had to keep thinking over my thoughts so as not to forget them; and while going over these thoughts more ideas came to mind. When I reached town, I ducked into a store and asked for a scrap of paper and a pen to be able to scribble down my afternoon thoughts.
It is intriguing to me that when I am not prepared to write or think about food ideas seemingly bubble forth and then I must search quickly for a means to write down the thoughts for in many ways they are fleeting and without putting pen to paper I lose some or all of the thoughts; sometimes temporarily, sometimes forever--just like putting together the shopping list for groceries.
