I had an idea and shared it. Apparently I was unclear in my voice when I expressed what I wanted. I have been searching for delicate tender spruce tips; what arrived today was more of an assortment of spruce tips in varying degrees of development from tender tip to fiercely sharp spruce miniature branches. I have a use and a vision for the tips and I do not have several stomachs or a desensitized mouth with which I may ingest developed spruce.
It appears the forager was not passed on my need for the tips and only the tips. Either that or they got fed up with searching the forest like a young deer for the most succulent and tender tips; I understand a laborious process but one I was willing to pay for. A recent phone call has hopefully resolved my dissatisfaction and now need to make more infusions rather than applications of spruce tips. I am also a bit wary of the older spruce because it is quite tannic in opposition to the sweetness and delicacy of the young tips. Yes, I ate the raw developed tree cutting.
Here is the bag of spruce I received and my projects for tomorrow.
