How do you generate ideas? Ask people. We have been working on more clear broths, from Parmesan to apricot-yuzu. And still, I know there are more opportunities underneath rocks I have yet to look under. Just yesterday I asked Lorraine what should we try to make clear? What is not clear that would benefit from some clarification? It took awhile for her to come up with an idea. I am not sure if she was stumped or just searching for the winning idea. Either way, the end result is all that matters. As the day came to a close she spouted the idea: clear coffee. I was intrigued though not quite sold. Coffee is relatively clear anyway, though the idea sparked more thoughts. Clear coffee became the catalyst. Clear coffee is not a huge leap. What would be the next step?
In our remote home a cappuccino is non-existent. I guess that is why my mind jumped right to cappuccinos. I voiced my thought and Lorraine went along with the concept. Of course if we are not drinking cappuccinos, how the heck are we going to make a clear one?
