The malt powder is spread out on parchment paper and closely watched as it roasts in a 300°F oven. If it is not watched it will burn, so don't go out for a run while it cooks. Once the malt powder is roasted it becomes an instrumental ingredient in the kitchen. The roasted malt powder makes fabulous ice cream as well as adding a backbone to our cakes, breads and pastas. We are looking forward to using it in crusts and crumbs savory and sweet as well as making a toasted malt egg cream.
