...is supposed to be fun. Cooking with Amaya is a great reminder of that because she is so excited to be in the kitchen. She loves to help in the kitchen and we love to spend that time with her sharing what we do. She takes her tasks quite seriously and tries to do a good job. Then when we're finished she gets to relax and taste whatever we're making. We're cooking together in short spurts, partially to accommodate a shorter attention span and partially because cooking is a series of small tasks strung together to form a process. It's the perfect combination of action and reward for all of us.
For her, licking the spatula is the icing on the cake.
