I thought I was onto something new. Mixing really good beer with really good soda to make a refreshing and lightly alcoholic drink. I said "look out Arnold Palmer, there's a new drink in town." It turns out my brilliant idea already exists, and it has a name, Shandy. What we were able to quickly bring to the table was the combination of incredible beers with unique sodas. For instance the first one we mixed at The Granary was a coffee IPA blended with house made root beer. The combination was incredible. Hoppy and clean, sweet, spicy and rich. Our second Shandy out of the gate blended a strawberry-preserved lemon soda with the Saison. And I needed a non-alcoholic version. We blended Fever Tree ginger ale with Beck's NA beer. It was striking how delicious these marriages were.
