We had a blueberry lemonade at a restaurant last week that was a great idea that could have been better. So of course once we got home we began mulling over ways to make it better. We decided to freeze blueberries to add to the lemonade because they taste good that way and as they defrost in the drink they soften and give up their juices to the lemonade. Then we changed the straw, using an extra-wide straw often seen in milkshakes or bubble tea. Using the wide straw meant that, depending on the size of your blueberries, they could be sucked up through the straw immediately (small wild berries) or enjoyed halfway through the drink as they softened enough to be suctioned through (large cultivated berries). This made the lemonade fun to drink and as everyone knows, things that involve the diner and are fun to eat or drink always taste better.
