Creating a strong foundation takes more than just starting with great materials, you have to know which materials to use, and the best way to put them together. It takes design and planning. It takes research on the building lot and surrounding area. It takes an experienced eye that knows what might be needed or what you haven't thought of. The surrounding environment also plays an important role in determining which materials should be used for the foundation. As we build our own culinary foundations it is essential to plan for and pay attention to the possible variables we may encounter. We will not be able to account for everything. But we will be ready for anything.
