Some days are spent searching for inspiration. We have our daily routines to follow but sometimes, as we move through our tasks, the spark is missing. The ingredients stop speaking to us and the excitement leaches out of the kitchen. On those days we feel stagnant and our cooking lacks it's usual flair. Gingerbread falls, noodles lack flavor, and peas shrivel in the pan. Those are tough days. Fortunately there are times when just looking outside our window is enough to remind us how lucky we are. The brilliant colors of a sunset spreading across the sky with a tiny sliver of moon in the distance illustrate that this is just a passing phase. Things will be brighter and even more delicious in the morning. Everyone hits a few bumps in the road but those of us who are lucky learn how to bounce back and move on.
