I took this picture of an assortment of pasta dies while spending the day in the Arcobaleno test kitchen. The artistry in the craftsmanship is striking. The variety of what is possible by altering a few holes and lines cut into bronze is impressive. The patina of the bronze shows the age and use of the dies. Looking at the arrangement of dies in the drawer I see beauty and potential. It is a reminder of how complexity can be stripped down to appear simple. If you stop to wonder how these original shapes came into being, you will find an amazing collection of creative questions.
